Typing tools for teachers
Build an assignment, share one link, collect verifiable result codes. Students never create accounts and no student data is stored by TypingSpark.
Share this link with your class
The assignment is stored inside the link. Students send you the result code they receive; paste the codes into the class report.
How it works
- Create an assignment below: a title, the kind of text (or your own passage), the time limit and the pass marks for speed and accuracy.
- Share the assignment link with your class, for example in your learning platform.
- Students open the link, enter a name or initials, take the test and receive a short result code.
- Students paste the code into your platform or email it to you.
- Paste all the codes into the class report to verify them and see a table with averages, pass counts and a CSV download.
Privacy by design
The assignment is stored inside the link itself. Student names or initials stay in the student's browser and inside the result code they choose to send you. TypingSpark verifies codes without keeping them. Assignment and class report pages show no ads at all, and lesson and game pages show only non-personalised ads.
Lessons and games for class
Every lesson and game is free and works without sign-up, which makes them easy to use in a computer lab. Lesson progress is saved on each computer's browser.
Questions
Do students need accounts or email addresses?
No. Students only need the assignment link. A name or initials is optional and stays inside the result code.
Can students fake a result code?
Codes are signed by TypingSpark, so edited codes fail verification. A code cannot prove which person typed the test; for formal assessment, supervise the session.
Is it really free for schools?
Yes. There is no paid plan and no limit on classes or students.
