Survival
The clock runs down. Every correct word adds time; every mistake takes some away.
How to play
You start with ten seconds. Each correctly typed word adds time based on its length, and each wrong keystroke removes half a second. The pace increases the longer you survive. Your score is the time you lasted.
Strategy
Long words give more time than short ones, but only if they are typed without a mistake. A single wrong key costs half a second, and the clock drains faster the longer you survive, so the game rewards a pace you can keep without errors. If the time bar turns red, slow down slightly and focus on clean words rather than speed.
- Words typed with a mistake earn no time, even if you fix them.
- After a minute, longer and less common words appear.
- Your speed and accuracy are shown at the end, so you can compare with your normal tests.
Playing with the keyboard only
The game starts on your first key and can be played without a mouse. Switching to another tab pauses it. If fast time pressure is not right for you, try the Accuracy Challenge, which has no timer.
Questions
What is a good survival time?
Over a minute means accurate typing at a steady pace. Accuracy helps more than speed here.
