Word Rain
Words fall from the top. Type one and press Space to clear it before it lands. Five misses and the round ends.
How to play
Start typing any falling word; TypingSpark locks on to the word that matches what you type. Press Space or Enter to clear it. Each level adds speed and longer words. In calm mode words wait in a queue instead of falling, so you can practise recognition without time pressure.
What it trains
Recognising a whole word at a glance and typing it in one smooth movement, instead of letter by letter. That is the habit behind higher speeds in every test.
Tips for higher scores
- Clear the lowest word first; it is the closest to landing.
- Read the whole word before you start typing it, then type it in one movement.
- If you make a mistake, press Escape to clear what you typed instead of deleting letter by letter.
- Keep your fingers on the home row between words. Looking down costs more time than any word.
Levels go up every ten words. From level three, words get longer; from level six, the full vocabulary of the typing tests is used.
Calm mode and accessibility
Calm mode replaces falling words with a short list of words that stay still, and gives you ninety seconds to clear as many as you can. It starts automatically if your device asks for reduced motion. The game is played entirely with the keyboard: Space or Enter submits a word, Backspace deletes a letter and Escape clears the current attempt.
Questions
How is the score calculated?
Each cleared word scores its length times the current level. Misses do not subtract points; five misses end the round.
