Word Sprint

Thirty seconds, as many words as you can. Only words typed without a single mistake count.

How to play

Press Start or any key and type the words in order. A word scores when you finish it and press Space without any mistake in it. A mistake does not stop you, but that word is lost even if you fix it, so the game rewards clean typing over frantic speed.

What it trains

Accuracy under time pressure. Most typists make more mistakes when they hurry; Word Sprint shows you the balance point where you are fast and still clean. Compare your clean words with your speed on the result screen: if speed is high but clean words are low, slow down a little.

Tips for a higher score

  • Read each word completely before you type its first letter.
  • Keep a steady rhythm. A pause costs less than a mistake, because a word with a mistake scores nothing.
  • Keep your fingers on the home row and your eyes on the text.
  • Try three rounds in a row and keep the middle score as your honest level.

Questions

Do fixed mistakes count?

No. A word scores only if every key in it was right the first time. Fixing it lets you carry on, but the word does not count.

How is this different from a typing test?

A typing test reports speed with a penalty for errors left behind. Word Sprint counts only perfect words, so it rewards clean typing even more strongly.
