Key Blitz
One big key at a time. Press it as quickly as you can for 30 seconds. Wrong keys cost a point.
How to play
Press Start. A letter appears; press that key. The first keys come from the home row, then every letter joins in, then the numbers. You have 30 seconds. Each right key scores a point and each wrong key takes one away.
Why it helps beginners
Before you can type words without looking, you need to find single keys without looking. Key Blitz trains exactly that. Keep your fingers on the home row, glance only at the screen, and use the finger that owns each key. When your score passes 60, try the lessons or Word Rain.
Scores to aim for
A first attempt by someone who looks at the keyboard is often 20 to 35 keys. Learners who know the home row by feel usually reach 50 to 70, and confident touch typists score 80 or more. Because wrong keys take a point away, guessing does not help: accuracy is part of the score.
Key Blitz works on any keyboard layout, because it asks for the character, not a position. On a phone or tablet it works with the on-screen keyboard, but a physical keyboard is what it is designed for.
Questions
Which keys are included?
The first 15 keys come from the home row, the next 25 from all letters, then numbers join in. The order is random within each stage.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. There is no text to read, only single keys, so it works well for young learners. The page shows only non-personalised ads.
